Morning Smiles :)

I know that mornings can be difficult for some families.  I am so thankful that I don't have to drop Xander off at daycare every morning.  When I leave for work, chances are that Paul and X may still be asleep for another hour.  But every once in a while, like this morning, they are awake and send me off with a smile on my face!  Xander is so much fun to say goodbye to:  he smiles and giggles as we wave, and he thinks it's fun to look out the window at me and tap on the glass.  He also does this if Paul has to leave in the evenings :)

Leaving is also easier knowing that Paul will send me pictures of their adventures taken from his phone or ipod.  Here are some recent "Paul Day Pics:"

Paul Day Pics III

I want another snow day!  Teachers aren't supposed to be more excited that the students about snow days, but we have been so spoiled lately with short weeks, and it was heartbreaking seeing Paul and Xander wave from the window as I drove off in the cold this morning.  Xander is growing so quickly and is such a happy, peppy baby.  I am so happy that he gets to spend so much time with Paul during the day.  The "nice ladies" at Mom's Day Out are awesome, but I know the time Xander and Paul spend together is really special.

Here are some "Paul Day Pics" sent to me yesterday, taken from Paul's iPod.  Apparently the mystery food Xander is eating is banana!

Week 12: Wedding in Lincoln

Xander had a busy twelfth week so far.  He went to work with his Dad every day and even traveled to Lincoln for Alex and Vanessa's wedding!  And on top of it all, he went through a growth spurt and none of us got any sleep for 3 days.

Here are my boys getting ready for an early morning out on the UNO football field:

Another great picture of Xander's parseltongue:

The New Routine

With Sarah going back to work on Thursday, I started my new "job" as Xander Tamer. Thursday went really well with a couple of bottle feedings and naps. Friday - not as smooth, but still rewarding. I've been reading out loud to him and we have dance parties all the time. He was super worn out by the weekend and has been sleeping in abundance : )

Sleepy Xander : )

Last night Xander slept for 4 hours straight, then for another 5! We only had to get up for feeding and changing twice, and one of those was before midnight. Thanks Xander for all of the sleepy time : ) We are hoping for more nights like these now that Sarah has to get up for school so early - starting tomorrow! Summer flew by : ( Oh well I am looking forward to some good autumn time.

Xander Has the Coolest Tongue : )

These are the last couple days before Sarah has to go back to work, so we are making the most of it by relaxing and getting as much cozy time as possible before our entire routine changes again. We are enjoying all of our Xander time and the temperature change as well. It has been raining all night and still going strong up through the first part of the day. The high is only 72! Quite a difference from the 107 heat index from last week. We are taking advantage with the windows open for some much needed fresh air (the smell from Xander's diaper pale leaves much to be desired). Random Xander fact of the day : X has peed 7 times this morning!

Hanging out with my boys : )

My work email has been flooded with messages lately as everyone in the district is preparing to return to work next week.  I am thankful that I get to stay home with my boys for awhile.  Here are some pictures of Paul and Xander chilling at home:

3 Week Growth Spurt

We have been surviving a three week growth spurt in the past few days and everyone is crazy tired! On top of that, I have been teaching a summer workshop at PKI for hyperactive middle school kids. I am happy that today is the last day for that. After class yesterday, we went to our pediatrician just to check on some digestive problems that Xander has been experiencing as of late. They told us to keep an eye on him and Sarah has made a few slight changes in her diet.
