X's Carrots

Xander picked out hummus to go with the whole wheat bagels he's been asking for all day, but when we got home, X insisted that the hummus was for carrots only. He bit his lip while eating them, but told me that "it's better already."

Sitting & Banana

Xander loves bananas!!  He has also become a bit of a wild child, always moving, running, playing.  Here is a rare glimpse of Xander relaxing while maintaining his hold on an enormous banana!

Like most members of the subfamily, the golden hamster has expandable cheek pouches, which extend from its cheeks to its shoulders. In the wild, hamsters are larder hoarders; they use their cheek pouches to transport food to their burrows. Their name in the local Arabic dialect where they were found translates to "mister saddlebags" (Arabic: أبو جراب) due to the amount of storage space in their cheek pouches.
