What's New With Xandermander

Xander is almost 10 weeks old!  He is becoming such a strong little man.  Some of my new favorite things about Xander:  he can hold his head up by himself, he has the longest, prettiest eyelashes, and he has become a slobbermonster like his Molly dog!  He has been using his developing abilities to become so much more observant of his surroundings, although this can sometimes interfere with our routines!

Grocery Store Comments

Today at the grocery stores, several people had something to say about our little man as we shopped. Everyone asked how old he was first and then mentioned how little he looked (not to us!) One lady kept calling him a "cute little booger bear" :) Another man said he was "fresh out of the oven" : ) Someone guessed he was six weeks old. Another man asked us how we were doing financially! One guy said his little one was 27 years old. The first lady came up to us and asked if Xander was ours! Then she said we were lucky ; ) Everyone told us to enjoy our time with him while he is little. We are definitely doing that!

Prevening Dance Party!

Here's some vids of us dancing with Xander before bedtime. We do this every night just before he eats his last dinner and gets changed into sleepy-time clothes. The personalized onesie is from Christie, at Beadle : ) Now we won't confuse him for some other baby.

Two Month Dr. Visit!

Today we went to the Dr. for vaccinations. Xander got three shots and had to drink more medicine! He is all worn out now and cuddling with his Mommy : ) Xander weighs 12 lbs 9.5 oz! He is 23 inches tall and his head circumference is 39 centimeters. He has been so busy growing! Here are some pictures of Xander before and after his bath. Xander XL

Xander woke up gigantic this morning!  I think he is definitely getting enough to eat while I am at work.  This first picture is of Xander and Paul this morning.  Xander's shirt barely fit--it is stretched over his diaper cover:

Xander has his two-month doctor visit tomorrow evening, which will include vaccinations.  I am anxious to find out his new official measurements, but I know he will be sad and sore from his shots for a while :(

The New Routine

With Sarah going back to work on Thursday, I started my new "job" as Xander Tamer. Thursday went really well with a couple of bottle feedings and naps. Friday - not as smooth, but still rewarding. I've been reading out loud to him and we have dance parties all the time. He was super worn out by the weekend and has been sleeping in abundance : )

Sleepy Xander : )

Last night Xander slept for 4 hours straight, then for another 5! We only had to get up for feeding and changing twice, and one of those was before midnight. Thanks Xander for all of the sleepy time : ) We are hoping for more nights like these now that Sarah has to get up for school so early - starting tomorrow! Summer flew by : ( Oh well I am looking forward to some good autumn time.

Xander Has the Coolest Tongue : )

These are the last couple days before Sarah has to go back to work, so we are making the most of it by relaxing and getting as much cozy time as possible before our entire routine changes again. We are enjoying all of our Xander time and the temperature change as well. It has been raining all night and still going strong up through the first part of the day. The high is only 72! Quite a difference from the 107 heat index from last week. We are taking advantage with the windows open for some much needed fresh air (the smell from Xander's diaper pale leaves much to be desired). Random Xander fact of the day : X has peed 7 times this morning!

Sioux Falls Cont.

Here are some more pics of Xander visiting everyone up in Sioux Falls. Xander even hung out with his Great Papa! We had a very good time up there and the trip back was amazingly short ( X slept the WHOLE time )

Trip to Sioux Falls!

We finally gathered our courage for a trip up to Sioux Falls to visit Sarah's family now that the A/C in our big car is working. The first half of the drive was quite nerve-racking, but Xander eventually relaxed and gave in to the fact that he was stuck in his carseat for the rest of the day and things ran a little smoother. Now that we are up here, Xander has been a perfect little monkey : ) He has been enjoying the bouncy seat and visiting everyone! The weather here is a stark contrast to what we have been used to down in Omaha and I think that Xander has been positively responding to the change. It has been a very enjoyable experience on the whole ; )

Mimi Giant Picture Post

My mom came to visit for my birthday and we had all kinds of fun! Xander was taken all over town. We finally were able to visit the "Bodies" exhibit, and Sarah and I saw Gogol Bordello and Primus at the Stir Cove in the extreme heat!
